  • 2 cups Chickpeas (soaked overnight and pressure cooked)
  • 2 tsp Oil
  • 1 Bay leaf
  • 1 Cinnamon stick
  • 3-4 Cloves
  • 1 tsp Whole peppercorns
  • 3 Green cardamom pods
  • 2 Black cardamom pods
  • 1 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp Chili powder
  • 1 tsp Coriander powder
  • 1 tsp Cumin powder
  • 1 tsp Cumin seeds
  • 1/2 tsp Asafoetida
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 cup Onions, chopped
  • 1 cup Tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 tsp Ginger, chopped
  • 1 tsp Garlic, chopped
  • 1 tsp Ajwain (carom seeds)
  • 1 tsp Lime juice
  • 1 Green chili, chopped
  • 1 Tea bag
  • 1 tbsp Butter

  • 2 cups Refined flour (maida)
  • 1/2 tsp Yeast (dissolved for 10 minutes in lukewarm water)
  • 1/2 cup Whole wheat flour
  • A pinch of Salt
  • Water (to knead)
  • Oil (for frying)

Method: How to Make Chole Bhature

Preparing the Chole:
